    "Pray without ceasing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:17 When life is severe - and it often is ... what will you do?  Yes, the work is not finished. Pressures mount. Tensions threaten you. All of life is pressure. We all live with it. That means you are alive! Professional pressures. What career do I choose? How do I advance? What decisions are smart for my professional development? Do I need to go back to school again? Should I shift to a new profession?  Property pressures. The car, house and garden all produce pressure. Have you had something break down this week? The more things you own, the more things are going to break down. That's life.  On top of these pressures you add a little thing called personal pressure.     "And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." -2 Corinthians 9:8 The story is told by historian Clarence McCartney of a Baptist pastor who had a terrible problem with a difficult member of his congregation during the time of the American Revolution. One day that difficult young man joined the army of General George Washington. He betrayed the army and was sentenced to be executed. The Baptist pastor walked seventy miles, hoping to pray with the young many before his execution.  When the pastor finally arrived at the army camp, he spoke to General Washington and appealed for forgiveness and pardon. General Washington heard him out, but said, "I'm very sorry, but I can do nothing for your friend."  "My friend? My friend? He's not my friend!"...
